Commentaire :
Montage annoté : 'Andrea del Sarto'.
Fragment complémentaire de l'inv. 1716, ce dessin a été rapproché de plusieurs oeuvres peintes par Andrea del Sarto et plus spécialement de la sainte Julie du 'retable de Sarzana' (1528, autrefois à Berlin, aujourd'hui détruit, cf. L. Becherucci, 'Andrea del Sarto. I Grandi Maestri del Disegno', Milan, 1955, éd. consultée 1962, tav. 26) et de la 'Jeune fille au Pétrarque' (Florence, Galleria degli Uffizi, voir S.J. Freedberg, 'Andrea del Sarto. Catalogue raisonné, Cambridge, II, 1963, p. 184). Selon Shearman ('Andrea del Sarto', Oxford, 1965, p. 379) il faudrait plutôt le mettre en relation avec la Vierge de la 'sainte Famille Barberini' peinte en 1525 (Rome, Palazzo Barberini, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica).
