Vallardi (L.1223, en vert, au verso); Vallardi, Disegni di Leonardo da Vinci posseduti da Giuseppe Vallardi..., 1855, p. 43 partie du f° 197 (Léonard de Vinci): 'Due disegni su carta bianca a penna: studj di porzione di cavallo morto. / [...] Il secondo rappresenta un teschio di cavallo morto poggiato sul terreno. - Da un lato abbozzo insignificante. - Nell'angolo è pur scritto il numero 47. / Alto poll. 6. 2. largo poll. 6. / Il Lomazzo ci assicura di aver veduti disegni di Leonardo sull'anatomia del cavallo, posseduti da Francesco Melzo; comme di bellissimi ne possedeva Ambrogio Figino, il che ricorda ancora l'Amoretti nelle dianzi citate sue memorie'. - Acquis en 1856; marque du Louvre (L. 1886a).
