Commentaire :
Le dessin paraît douteux à C. Hofstede de Groot (« Die Handzeichnungen Rembrandts. Versuch eines beschreibenden und kritischen Katalogs », Haarlem, 1906, n°736). L. Demonts le donne à Nicolaes Maes (« Les accroissements des musées nationaux français, t. III : Le Musée du Louvre en 1920 », Paris-New York, 1921, pl. 22) et le date des années 1650-1653. W.R. Valentiner reprend cette attribution et rapproche la feuille de celles de la collection Dalhousie (« Nicolaes Maes », Stuttgart-Berlin-Leipzig, 1924, p. 50, ill. 39-40 p. 35-36). Cette attribution n'est pas remise en cause par les auteurs suivants.
