Reclassé parmi les copies d'après Domenichino en suivant une proposition de C. VanTuyll (voir cahier de reclassement [reclassement 2006], Louvre, Cabinet des Dessins),
qui l'a identifié comme une copie d'un des pendentifs de l'église Saint-Charles à Catinari, à Rome.
