Autrefois attribué à l'Ecole florentine du XVIe siècle (note ms sur le dessin). L'actuelle attribution à Niccolò dell'Abate (Inv. ms du Cabinet de dessins) a été rejetée par S. Béguin ('La charité. Un tableau de l'Ecole de Fontainebleau récemment entrée au Louvre' in l'Oeil, 210-211, juin-juillet 1972, p. 13) qui y a vu un possible projet pour une sculpture, peut-être en rapport avec la Charité Velter.
Dimensions: H. 0,184 m ; L. 0,081 m
Materials and techniques: Plume et encre brune, pierre noire. Annotation à la pierre noire, dans l'angle inférieur droit : 'La char[ité] / Ecole florentine / XVIe siecle (sic!)'. Collé le long du bord supérieur.
