Commentaire :Un portrait de Philippe d'Orléans par Petitot était conservé dans la collection de Lady Clemorne ; un autre est au Louvre (INV. 35707). A comparer en outre avec INV. 35736, portrait du même modèle par un artiste anonyme.

- Miniature sur émail. Inscription en bas du cadre, gravée sur une banderolle : 'Philip Duke of Orléans'. Cadre inscrit au dos : 'By Petitot/ bought by/ Sir Tolle Mache Sinclair, Bar.t/ at the sale of the/ Hawkins Collection/ which is said to have cost 250,000 pounds/ in May 1904. / The Duke of Orléans/ 1674-1723/ was regent of France from/ 1715 to 1723'.
