Cachet Léon Benouville, en bas à gauche, (Lugt, .....).
Etude préparatoire pour la figure principale dans 'La Communion mystique de Sainte Catherine de Sienne', grisaille dont il existe deux versions, l'une conservée au Louvre et l'autre, dans l'église de Fère-en-Tardenois. Un autre dessin pour la religieuse est aussi conservé au Louvre (rf 35696). (A. Hokanson in cat. exp.
