Commentaire :
Reclassé parmi les anonyme florentins du XVIIè siècle (voir cahier de reclassement [reclassement 2006], Louvre, Cabinet des Dessins). C. Monbeig Goguel ('Musée du Louvre, Cabinet des Dessins, Inventaire général des Dessins Italiens, IV : Dessins toscans XVIe-XVIIIe siècles, vol. II : 1620-1800', Milan, 2005, n° 397) a proposé l'attribution à Lorenzo Lippi, qui se serait inspiré de la figure de saint Joseph dans le tableau de la Fuite en Egypte peint par Cigoli vers 1610-1611 pour les Médicis (le tableau est connu par plusiurs versions à Montpellier, à Chartes, Musée des Beaux-Arts).
