Attribué à Niccolò Tribolo, avec réserve, par C. Monbeig Goguel ('Musée du Louvre, Cabinet des Dessins, Inventaire général des Dessins Italiens, I : Maîtres toscans nés après 1500, morts avant 1600, Vasari et son temps', Paris, 1972, n° 188. Ce même auteur suggère un rapprochement stylistique avec un dessin conservé à Oxford (Christ Church, repr. in C. Lloyd, 'Drawings attributable to Niccolò Tribolo', in Masters Drawings, vol. 6, n. 3, 1968, pl. 6).
