On peut localiser et dater, d'après le Journal de Delacroix, ce dessin très exactement. Il s'agit de la forêt de Sénart, dessinée le dimanche 9 octobre 1853. Ce paysage a servi de fond à L'Education de la Vierge, peinture de 1853, conservée au Musée National d'Art Occidental de Tokyo. Cachet : 'E. D.'. Moreau-Nélaton, T. II, fig. 339.
