Commentaire :
Le verso est typique des dessins très libre de Mola. A comparer avec le dessin conservé à l'Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica de Rome, inv. n. FC 124340 (repr. in cat. exp. Pier Francesco Mola: 1612-1666, Lugano, Museo Cantonale d'Arte, Roma, Musei Capitolini, n° III. 16). Le St. Jérôme est sans doute préparatoire pour le tableau de la collection Scardeoni de Lugano (repr. in ibidem, n° I.13; voir aussi les études de Princeton et du Teylers, ibidem, n° III.10 et III.11) - J. Katalan, comm. écrite, 2004.
