Commentaire :

A rapprocher de quatre feuilles conservées à Montpellier (musée Atger). Venue avec la collection du comte d'Orsay, l'étude a été considérée comme de Subleyras, puis a été donnée en 1983 par J.F. Méjanès au sculpteur André Le Brun et enfin en 1982 (n° 12) par P. Rosenberg à Fragonard (J.P. Cuzin dans Fragonard, Paris, Milan, 2003, n° 3, repr. pl. 3).
