La 4è figure en bas au centre serait une étude pour l'un des hommes dans 'Les botteleurs de foin' de 1850, Musée du Louvre (RF 1439). (Herbert, R.L., La Revue du Louvre, 1-1980) Catalogue Moreau-Nélaton, pl.269. A rapprocher des dessins GM 10694, GM 10693, GM 10334 et GM 10610.
