Probablement l'une des oeuvres qui évoquent le mieux l'immense toile du 'Jour du Sabbat dans le quartier juif à Constantine', disparue (A. Sérullaz, R. Michel, L'aquarelle en France au XIXé, Paris, R.M.N., 1983, p.28). A rapprocher du dessin RF 24414 et du folio I verso du carnet RF 26087.
