Commentaire :
Sur les feuilles dessinées par H. Robert chez le duc de la Rochefoucauld, sept sont conservées au musée de Valence et la huitième est celle-ci. Ces compositions étaient réalisées durant des séances régulières entre artistes et aristocrates. (A-M. Peylhard in cat. d'exp. 'Hubert Robert, promenades au XVIIIe siècle', Avignon, 2010, n° 37)
