Ce dessin de G. van den Eeckhout est une étude préparatoire au tableau du Rijksmuseum à Amsterdam .
Au verso du cadre, étiquette avec note indiquant que ce dessin a figuré aux expositions suivantes : Royal Academy, Londres, 1899, Leyde ; Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale ; Paris, Tuileries. Cadre doré Louis XIII.
