Description/Features: Commentaire :
D'après l'annotation sur la feuille, le sujet serait identifiable avec 'L'Ange apparaissant à Manoach et à sa femme' (cf. Ch. Thiem, 'Florentiner Zeichner des Frühbarock', Munich, 1975, n° 200). Plus récemment, suite à l'acquisition du dessin parmi les collections du Musée du Louvre, il a été identifié avec 'Sainte Cécile et saint Valérien en adoration, auxquels l'ange présente une guirlande de fleurs', correspondant à un tableau perdu de l'artiste, décrit dans la biographie de Targioni Tozzetti.

Materials and techniques: Sanguine sur pierre noire. Annotation à la plume et à l'encre brune sous le dessin : 'an angel appears to Manoah & his Wife / Vincenzo Dandini'. Bords légèrement déchirés. Collé sur les quatre bords.
