Schreiber affirme que cette pièce ornée de rinceaux au fond est de la même main que la Vierge d'Aix-La-Chapelle de Berlin (S. n°2513 m), comme le Christ portant sa croix de Darmstadt dans une bordure attribuée à l'atelier de Jésus à Béthanie.
