Commentaire :Fait partie d'une série de quatre planches conservées à la Collection (268 LR à 271 LR). Le Maître E.S. avait déjà utilisé ce motif en y ajoutant parfois un oiseau ou un homme sauvage pour donner une troisième dimension (Geisberg 1924, pl. 155 à 157, fig. 217 à 219). Ce motif de feuilles d'acanthe se retrouve dans le décor sculpté de panneaux de chêne en Allemagne du Nord vers 1480. (P. Jean-Richard in 'Ornemanistes du XVe au XVIIe siècle, Gravures et dessins.
