Adriaen van Ostade a préparé cette estampe par un dessin, aujourd'hui au British Museum, dont les contours ont été réportés au stylet sur la plaque de cuivre. (Olivia Savatier, dans le catalogue "Résonances. Le Louvre à La Réunion", Paris et La Réunion, 2021, p.229, n°211)
