4e état.
Rembrandt s'est servi d'un cuivre entièrement gravé par Hercules Seghers, Tobie et l'Ange (une épreuve conservée en 2368 LR), dont les estampes, probablement tirées en un très petit nombre, ont toujours été rarissimes, pour le transformer en une Fuite en Egypte. Il en a réalisé six états.
Dans ce 4e état, Rembrandt a repris au brunissoir le visage de Joseph et a repris à l'eau-forte le feuillage des arbres et l'arrière-plan à droite.
