Commentaire :
O Astra ô coeli numquam violabilis ignes ! / Condite nigranti lumina vestra peplo. / Extinctum flemus crudeli funere Natum : / Qui quondam vobis, qui mihi lumen erat. (Ô astres, Ô feux du ciel intouchable ! Voilez votre lumière sous un noir manteau. Nous pleurons le Fils cruellement assassiné, qui était vôtre, et qui pour moi était Lumière.). Ces quatre vers sont suivis de la dédicace : Religiosae Dominae Annae Van Dyck Monasterij Facontini, Passionis Dña hoc theatridium Germanae suae ponebat Antonius Van Dyck. (Van Dyck a réalisé cette petite peinture de la Passion pour sa s¿ur Anna Van Dyck, religieuse au couvent des Falcontinesses) ; en bas à gauche : Antonius Van Dyck inven. ; au centre : Cum privilegio ; à droite : Paul. Pontius sculpsit
