Carel van Tuyll (bloc-notes de l'Inventaire, 29.06.12) indique qu'il existe une eau-forte signée et datée 1646 par Nicolaes FICKE (vers 1625-avant 1702), élève de Wouwerman ; cf cat. exposition "Philips Wouwerman 1619-1668", Karlsruhe /La Haye, 2009-2010, p. 24, fig. 8 et p. 55, fig. 1.

Une étude de cheval debout, très proche, attribuée à Philips WOUWERMAN est passée en vente chez PHILLIPS, Londres, mercredi 12 décembre 1990, 'Old Master Drawings', vente n° 28,467, lot 26, p. 12.
