Première estampe d'une série de six grands paysages recomposés, cette eau-forte s'inspire des moulins à eau dessinés sur le motif par Anthonie Waterloo à Bergedorf, près de Hambourg, lors de son voyage au nord de l'Allemagne vers 1660.
