Commentaire :
Epreuve unique décrite pour la première fois dans le catalogue de vente de Stenberg Manderscheid par J. C. Frenzel. Hind (A. I, 35, pl. 35) rattache à ce groupe les 'Triomphes de Pétrarque' (A. I, 18-23) et un 'Saint Jérôme' (A. I, 38). Le vase d'oeillets se retrouve également dans un epièce de la collection Otto (Hind, A, IV, 10). Le sujet est à comparer avec les tableaux de l'école siennoise.(P. Jean-Richard in cat. exp. La gravure italienne au Quattrocento. I - Florence. Troisième exposition temporaire du Cabinet Edmond de Rothschild,Paris, 1961, p. 18-19, n° 9).
