Commentaire :
La figure de Vénus dérive d'une fresque de Raphaël pour la Stufetta du Cardinal Bibbiena au Vatican. Le fond est copié de l'estampe de Dürer 'Le monstre marin'. (Holly Smallbone in,'Marcantonio Raimondi, Raphael and the image multiplied', Manchester University, 2016, n°53, p. 194 et 195 (épreuve The Whitworth Institute).
