Cette estampe est une copie réduite et en contrepartie de la gravure de Cochin fils "Frontispice pour le "Tombeau du comte Sidney Godolphin" (25517 LR et L 74 LR folio 175). Il existe une copie réduite en contrepartie par Ioh. Georg Hertel éditée à Augsbourg (18613 LR). (P. Jean-Richard, Inventaire général de gravures de l'Ecole française 'L'œuvre gravé de François Boucher dans la Collection Edmond de Rothschild', Paris, 1978, p. 275, n° 1112).
