Deuxième des sept gravures dédiées à l'histoire de Amnon et Tamar. Deux séries complètes, une avant la numérotation à Amsterdam, Bremen, Dresde, Cambridge, Cobourg, Karlsruhe, Londres, Munich, Vienne. Et l'autre avec la numérotation à Amsterdam, Brunswick, Hambourg et Wolfegg.
Un dessin préparatoire en contrepartie est conservé à Berlin et daté de 1539. (Plassmann 5).
Une copie par Melchior Lorch, signée du monogramme ML et daté de 1543 à droite (H. XXII, p. 182.2 est conservé à Berlin, Bremen et Munich/
Une copie sur bois signée du monogramme CVS (Christoffel van Sichem) a été faite pour la Biblia sacra, fol. 400, sans la cartouche de la gravure. (The New Hollstein, 'Heinrich Aldegrever' German engravings, etchings and woodcuts, 1400-1700, p. 40 à 42, repr. 23).
