Commentaire :
Cette gravure fait partie d'une série de huit plaques sur le sujet de la danse des noces (L 20 LR/139 à L 20 LR 146).
Les séries complètes des huit gravures sont conservées à Amsterdam, Berlin, Brême, Brunswick, Cambridge, Cobourg, Dresde, Munich, Münster, Nuremberg, Paris, Varsovie et Vienne. La composition est reprise par le monogrammiste AC (graveur anonyme allemand d'après Nagler in Mon. 260 mais attribué à Allaert Claesz in H. Dutch IV, 167-173) pour une série traitant la danse de la mort, signés su monogramme AC, datés de 1562 et conservés à Berlin, Brême, Dresde, Paris, Vienne.
