Cette estampe annonce les 'Armoiries à la tête de mort' de 1503. La Collection Rothschild conserve une autre épreuve des Armoiries au coq (596 LR). Le heaume a été étudié dans un dessin conservé également au Louvre (RF 5640) (Strauss 1974, I, p. 358, 1945/49, repr.) (P. Jean-Richard in 'Ornemanistes du XVe au XVIIe siècle, Gravures et dessins. XIVe exposition de la Collection Edmond de Rothschild', Paris, Musée du Louvre, 1987, p. 19, n° 17, repr.)
