Vallardi (L.1223, en vert, au verso); Vallardi, Disegni di Leonardo da Vinci posseduti da Giuseppe Vallardi..., 1855, p. 43 partie du f° 197 (Leonardo da Vinci): «Due disegni su carta bianca a penna: studj di porzione di cavallo morto. / Il primo rappresenta la testa, il collo e la gamba anteriore destra d'un cavallo veduto in iscorcio. - In angolo è segnato il numero 46 di mano dell'autore. / Alto poll. 6. 2. largo poll. 6. / [...] Il Lomazzo ci assicura di aver veduti disegni di Leonardo sull'anatomia del cavallo, posseduti da Francesco Melzo; come di bellissimi ne possedeva Ambrogio Figino, il che ricorda ancora l'Amoretti nelle dianzi citate sue memorie.» Acquis en 1856; marque du Louvre (L. 1886a débordant sur le montage).
