'Il rend compte de son travail : il a fait des catalogues. Il a examiné les estampes venant d'Italie et en a attribué un grand nombre à Carrache et à l'ecole de Bologne. Il a aussi trié les portraits achetés à Nuremberg. Il explique la manière dont il rangera la collection.'
