D'après J. Lieure cette œuvre paraît imiter les esclaves enchaînés que Pietro Tacca a sculptés pour le piédestal de la statue de Ferdinand Ier dans la ville de Livourne ( 'Jacques Callot', Catalogue de l'œuvre gravé, Paris, Editions de la Gazette des Beaux-Arts, 1927, vol II, p. 21, n°372.)
